When a simple trip to the post office leads to an adventure with a detour down some lonely dirt roads in the desert and it brings you such joy, that’s when you know that you’re in the right place, where your heart can heal and you can feel your smile coming back. “Cerillos Hills” has been born from a little adventure I had, just taking a normal trip to the post office to ship out a piece of artwork that had sold. I’m grateful that the clock in my car is slow, which made me get there just after my guy closed for lunch, which led to time to kill. Hence my little adventure, that included butterflies, cottonwood trees, and a train honking a hello to me, all in the middle of a desert. Simple things. My heart is happy!
