From my home I can see at least three mountain ranges. This painting shows the foothills and south end of the Sangre de Christos mountains. I feel so lucky and grateful to be able to call this place home. It brings me such healing, peace, and joy every day.
Sometimes in the winter the hills turn pink at dusk, but this time it was these huge clouds that received all the beautiful pink light, while the ground below was bathed in its own golden light. I’m so pleased that this painting seems to have captured at least some of the magic of that moment. I hope it brings you joy too.
