I have a confession. It’s hard to describe, but sometimes it feels like it’s not really me making these paintings. It’s almost like my hand is just the vehicle and someone or something else is guiding it, telling it what to do. I call it my intuition when I hear in my head “more yellow”, “less green”, “add some tumbleweeds” or “STOP!”, but I’m not sure what it really is. I’ve just learned that when I let go and follow the inner voice’s instructions, magical things often happen.
When I finish an intuitive painting like this, I usually look at it and think, “Did I really do this? Wow, I love it!” But when I set out with a specific goal in mind, it’s often a struggle and I’m not happy with the result. So here’s to listening to voices in our heads… May they always guide you to magical places!
